Islamist leader proclaims “victory”
Abu Mohamed al Jolani, Islamist leader of the insurgent coalition that has taken the capital Damascus from Syrian President Bashar al Assad, has proclaimed victory in the last few hours.

Syrian opposition leader in exile says Damascus is safe
Hadi Al Bahra, president of the highest political body of the Syrian opposition in exile, the Syrian National Coalition (CNFROS), assured this Sunday that the situation in Damascus is “safe”, after the insurgents controlled the capital, as long as when “they do not raise their weapons.”
“For our people in Damascus, the situation is safe, except for some weak souls who can take advantage of these conditions. Please stay at homes”, the head of the opposition, whose headquarters are in Türkiye, has indicated in a message on his official Facebook account.
“Oh, our people of all sects and religions, you will be safe as long as you do not take up arms against any other citizen, and as long as you remain in your homes,” he explained.
Israel deploys troops along the border
The Israeli Army indicated this Sunday in a message that it has deployed troops in the border area with Syria and “in other places necessary for your safety“, without giving more details.
“We emphasize that the Israeli Army is not interfering in internal events in Syria,” the forces said in a brief statement, following the fall of the Damascus regime.
