The hearing of the three new nominees by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) was scheduled for next Tuesday (10), informed the president of the Federal CAE (Economic Affairs Commission), Vanderlan Cardoso (PSD-GO) , on your social networks.
The person chosen for the Monetary Policy directorate is Nilton David, who served as head of operations for Bradesco’s treasury. The current head of the BC Financial System Regulation department was appointed to the Regulation department.
a BC employee who was assigned to the CGU (Comptroller General of the Union), was appointed to command the Relationship, Citizenship and Conduct Supervision area. If approved, she will be the only woman at the top of the monetary authority in 2025.
The trio began the process on Wednesday (4) – the rite in which candidates meet with senators to gather votes for approval – and will have less than a week to meet parliamentarians before the hearing.
Those chosen must be examined by the CAE and be voted on in the Senate plenary, which is responsible for evaluating and approving the names of the authorities.
If approved, the new directors will take up their positions on January 1, 2025. Starting next year, the Copom (Monetary Policy Committee) will have a majority indicated by the Lula government – with seven of the nine members of the panel.
