Chega deputy reported for physical and verbal attacks

Parliamentary immunity? What the law says

It is certain that Diva Ribeiro, like all the deputies of the it does enjoy a special status of immunityfor the role it performs. But it is also true that this immunity is limited and can be withdrawn to any deputy.

Contact with Ventura

Ana Cristina Santana says she wants Chega to know the people she has in her ranks and reveals that, for this very reason, she herself contacted the party president, André Ventura.

“I got his contact information and sent a message via WhatsApp denouncing the deputy’s actions”, he reports.

According to the alleged victim, André Ventura not only learned about the case through her, but even sent her a response. Chega’s leader told him, via message, that it was “absolutely intolerant of illegalities or abuses” e promised to call you later. Ana Cristina Santana is still waiting for that call.

A SIC Notícias contacted Chegawho did not want to confirm the aggression by the deputy nor the alleged exchange of messages between the party president and the alleged victim. THE party says it does not intend to react to the case for now.

Who is Diva Ribeiro?

Diva Ribeiro has 50 years and it is mathematics teacher of profession. Before joining Chega, He was, for decades, a PSD activist.

The current deputy was elected to Chega’s parliamentary bench in Marchin the last legislative elections – it was the head of list for Beja constituency. At the time, he managed to second highest vote in that region – 21.55% of the votes, just behind the Socialist Party.
