Reader Monika, who is visiting the USA these days, also felt the increase in prices firsthand. Global food prices rose for the third month in a row in October 2024 and reached the highest level since April 2023. This was driven by price increases for almost all staple foods except meat. Data from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) showed this.
Monika visited Orlando – the capital of Orange County in the state of Florida. As she was preparing for an evening match in an indoor arena located in the center of the city, she jumped into a nearby bar for something to eat.
