Striker Estêvão, from Palmeiras, was the highlight of ESPN’s Bola de Prata award, held this Monday. The 17-year-old player was elected the star of the Brasileirão, being also chosen in the Revelation category and for the Championship Team. Champion Botafogo dominated the ideal team, with six names. In the women’s category, Corinthians was the main winner, in addition to naming Vic Albuquerque as best player.

The award for best coach in the women’s Brasileirão went to Lucas Piccinato, from champion Corinthians, who competed with Camila Orlando, from Palmeiras, and Thiago Viana, from São Paulo. In men’s football, Artur Jorge, champion of the Copa Libertadores and Brasileirão with Botafogo, surpassed Abel Ferreira, from Palmeiras, and Roger Machado, from Internacional.

Amanda Gutierres from Palmeiras and Gabi Portilho from Corinthians formed the attack of the women’s team, in a dispute that also included Cruzeiro’s Byanca Brasil. The men’s attack had Luiz Henrique from Botafogo and Estêvão from Palmeiras beating Flamengo player Pedro, who competed despite being injured since September.

In midfield, the chosen ones were Duda Sampaio (Corinthians), Micaelly (Ferroviária) and Vic Albuquerque (Corinthians). Fabíola Sandoval, from Cruzeiro, also competed. Among men, the winners were Alan Patrick (Internacional), Rodrigo Garro (Corinthians) and Savarino (Botafogo), the first Venezuelan to be awarded in a Silver Ball edition. The fourth name competing for the award was Matheus Pereira, from Cruzeiro.

The best goalkeeper and goalkeeper awards went to John, from Botafogo, and Carlinha, from São Paulo, respectively. The female defense duo is made up of Luana Sartório, from Ferroviária, and Daniela Arias, from Corinthians, who overcame competition from Cruzeiro’s Vitória Calhau. The defenders of the men’s team were Gustavo Gómez, from Palmeiras, and Bastos Quissanga, from Botafogo, who had his teammate Alexander Barboza among the competitors

For the right-backs, William, from Cruzeiro, and Kati, from Ferroviária, took the awards. Those chosen for the left side were the Argentine Bernabei, from Internacional, and the experienced Tamires, from Corinthians. The Parque São Jorge team also featured Vitoria Yaya as a midfielder, while the men’s team had Marlon Freitas, captain of Botafogo.

Striker Alerrando, from Vitória, won the award for the most beautiful goal in the Brasileirão. Top scorer alongside Yuri Alberto, with 15 goals each, he won the award for painting his bicycle in the 2-2 draw with Cruzeiro. Bia Menezes, from São Paulo, won the award for the women’s edition.

The Ballon d’Or in the men’s category went to Estêvão, from Palmeiras. At just 17 years old, the Alviverde jewel is the youngest athlete in history to receive the award. “I wouldn’t have this award if it weren’t for Palmeiras,” said the star, who got the better of Alan Patrick, from Internacional, and Savarino, from Botafogo.
