Yemeni rebels – the Houthis – claimed responsibility for Monday’s drone attack on an apartment building in the Israeli city of Yavne. During the attack no one was injured, announced the Israeli army and emergency services. TASR informs about it based on the AFP report.
The drone exploded on the top floor of the house in the city of Javne, which is located in the central part of Israel. A spokesman for the Yemeni rebels said that the attack was aimed at “a sensitive target of the Israeli enemy in Javna”.
Since the beginning of the war between Israel and the militant group Hamas, the Iran-backed Houthis have taken action attacks on Israel repeatedly. The Houthis mark it for showing solidarity with the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, which has been the scene of fighting between militants from the Palestinian radical movement Hamas and the Israeli army for over a year.
The conflict in the Gaza Strip began last October 7 after an attack by Palestinian militants on southern Israel. In response, the Israeli army launched the first air and later ground operation.
