The 2024 Brasileirão ended this Sunday (08/12) and the teams will have a month off before the start of the state tournaments, which will begin early in 2025.

When do the 2025 state championships start?
The first round of the state championships are scheduled for January 11th and 12th. The tournament was brought forward by the CBF due to the 2025 Club World Cup, which will be held between June and July, dates on which the Brazilian Championship will be interrupted.

What is the competition calendar in 2025?
The CBF released the 2025 Brazilian football calendar in November. The Brasileirão should begin the dispute on March 29, earlier than normal, in April. The reason is that the competition will take a break for the 2025 Club World Cup, which will be played between June 15th and July 13th.
The other dates were also announced by the entity. The state competitions should start on January 12th and end on March 26th. The Brazilian Super Cup will be on February 2nd. The Copa do Brasil starts on February 19th and ends on November 9th.
In continental competitions, the Recopa Sul-Americana, which will be played by Botafogo, will take place on the 19th and 26th of February. The Libertadores will take place between February 5th and November 29th, while the Sudamericana starts on March 5th and will have the final on November 22nd.
