Spending between 100 and 200 euros: these are the “goals” defined by the majority of Portuguese, when it comes to shopping of garments for the Natal.

The numbers are disclosed in the study carried out by Consumer Choice, shared with ZAP.

More than half of respondents (55%) plan to spend between 100 euros and 200 euros; 23% plan to spend more than 200 euros; 19% between 50 and 100 euros; and only 3% should spend less than 50 euros.

It’s not a big difference compared to last year: the budget is the same for 54% of respondents, 27% will spend less, 19% are thinking about spending more.

Unsurprisingly, the closest family members will receive the majority of gifts (54%), friends 26%, distant family members 12% and work colleagues only 7%.

Fashion clothing and accessories They are the leading sector, but barely: 22%, compared to 20% for toys. 16% turn to cosmetics and perfumes, 13% are more inclined towards books and entertainment. Next come food and drinks (10%), technological products (10%) and household items (8%).

O debit card It is the payment method most used by participants (37%), ahead of MB Way (26%) and cash payments (21%).

In an era of online shopping, there are still 41% of consumers who prefer to continue buying Christmas gifts online. physical stores. Only 10% will buy exclusively online.

In relation to the organization, there is division: 51% of respondents plans in advance, 40% buy some gifts on impulse.

61% plan purchases based on promotions, 34% take advantage of discounted items promptly and 5% make purchases regardless of current promotions.

Two thirds of consumers diversify gifts every Christmas, 31% repeat some of the gifts over the years.

48% of consumers consider Christmas shopping a process quiet, 43% have a moderate level of stress and 9% find this period very stressful and difficult to manage.
