Lufthansa will bring more than 700 jobs to Santa Maria da Feira

Lufthansa Technik announced this Monday the installation of a repair factory for engine parts and aircraft components in Santa Maria da Feira, in the district of Aveiro, and the creation of more than 700 jobs.

According to a statement from the company that belongs to the German airline Lufthansa, more than 700 jobswith production scheduled to begin in end of 2027.

“This industrial unit will create more than 700 jobs that Interested parties can apply next year“, said the company.

The German company did not disclose the value of the investment, but detailed that it recently acquired the 230,000 square meter property in the Lusopark business park, in Santa Maria da Feira, where it intends to start works in 2026.

“A new chapter begins today for Lufthansa Technik: for the first time in the company’s history, we are building and opening our own location in Portugal”, said the operational administrator, Harald Gloyin a statement.

Lufthansa Technik also said that it had the cooperation of the Portuguese Government, through the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP), and the city of Santa Maria da Feira.

“[Este investimento] represents another step towards the reindustrialization of our country and demonstrates the strong confidence in our national infrastructures and human capital, particularly in our highly qualified engineers and technicians in the aeronautical sector”, stated the Minister of Economy, Pedro Reiscited in the same note.
