On appeal, prosecutors allege that the magistrate tried to force a complaint, but argue that the investigation still needs to move forward

The (Public Ministry of Pernambuco) filed an appeal against judge Andréa Calado da Cruz, of the 12th Criminal Court of Recife (PE), alleging abuse and lack of impartiality in the conduct of Operation Integration. The action investigates suspicions of money laundering involving the singer, the lawyer and influencer and online betting companies.

According to the agency, the judge had imposed restrictions on the progress of the investigations, requiring prosecutors to decide whether to file a complaint, close the case or request new measures. For the coordinator of Gaeco (Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime), Roberto Brayner, this attitude interferes with the progress of the investigation.

The information was confirmed to journalists this Monday (Dec 9, 2024), at the Helena Caúla Reis Public Prosecutor’s Office Building, in the central area of Recife, according to the CNN Brazil.

The MP-PE argues that the investigation remains ongoing, as it is necessary to complete the analysis of bank data that can confirm or rule out signs of money laundering. The financial transactions monitored by Coaf (Financial Activities Control Council) were considered suspicious, but, according to the agency, there is still no definitive evidence about the crimes.
