Brazilian President Lula da Silva is hospitalized in São Paulo after surgery, which went smoothly, to drain an intracranial hematoma following a domestic accident in October, reported the Sírio-Libanês Hospital.
The Portuguese head of state, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, sent to the Presidency of the Brazilian Republic a message of wishes for a speedy recovery and complete recovery for Lula da Silva, who underwent surgery to drain an intracranial hematoma.
“The President of the Republic conveyed to the Brazilian Presidency his wishes for President Lula da Silva’s rapid recovery and complete reestablishment”, says one.

According to the hospital unit, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva had been to the Brasília unit of Hospital Sírio-Libanês on Monday to undergo an examination, after feeling headaches.
The hospital explains that Lula da Silva was then transferred to the São Paulo unit of Hospital Sírio-Libanês, where he underwent surgery (craniotomy) to drain the hematoma.
“The surgery was uneventful. At the moment, the President is well, under monitoring in an ICU bed [cuidados intensivos]“, he adds.
