São Paulo is planning for the 2025 season and has reportedly made a proposal for midfielder Thiago Mendes. Currently at Al-Rayyan, in Qatar, the player should leave the team thinking about next year.
The 32-year-old athlete’s contract ends in May 2025. But according to journalist André Hernan, Tricolor would be interested in having him before that.

What is the proposal for Thiago Mendes?
São Paulo’s intention is to remove Thiago Mendes from Qatar before the end of his contract. According to the journalist, Zubeldía even called the player and spoke to him explaining his interest and desire to have the midfielder for next year.
In July, the club had already shown this interest. At the time, he came across Al-Rayyan’s financial request. Now, the path seems to be made easier by the length of the contract.
This would be Thiago Mendes’ return to the club. For Tricolor, there were 142 matches, with 11 goals and 11 assists.
In June 2017, the midfielder was traded by Tricolor with Lille, from France, for 9 million euros (approximately R$34 million at the time).
In Europe, he also played for Lyon for four seasons before moving to Al-Rayyan in the middle of last year.
