There is a whole range of unbaked cakes and rolls. We checked out this one at our neighbors in Poland. It is very easy, yet beautifully creamy and mild. But you won’t bake it, you just need to lean it properly!
Dazzle the family with a no-bake cake
Are you a lazy daughter-in-law, mother, grandmother or even an aunt? Don’t worry, it also applies to men’s, and anyone who doesn’t want to stand in the kitchen for half a day to prepare something good for a visitor or birthday boy can use this recipe. The “lazy daughter-in-law” cake is a no-bake dessert that, like tiramisu, combines all the good things that you just need to buy in the store and bring home.
The recipe will be presented to you by the author of this post and the YouTube channel, Artur Wójtowicz. He also believes that this delicious dessert is suitable for any festive occasion and certainly also for Advent.

It will not be baked, but cooked!
And as the author of the post told you beautifully in Polish, “po prostu robi się bardzo łącz i bardzo szybko” that is, you can do it easily and quickly! However, remember that even if it is an unbaked cake, and therefore the oven can remain switched off, some time will be needed for it to harden and set.
As is often the case, the cake will be nicely moist and even tastier the next day as the flavors meld. Therefore, make a place in the fridge, a cold corridor or a room where it can rest undisturbed until the next day.
While the Poles insist on lazy daughters-in-law, here you can find a similar recipe called the lazy wife. But let’s not confuse them together. Although they are unbaked cookie desserts, the fillings and other ingredients are different.
For the Polish lazy daughter-in-law you will need 400 g of biscuits, 500 g of mascarpone, 330 g of 30% cream, 500 g of liquid caramel and 150 g of halva for sprinkling. However, the sprinkles are up to you, some prefer grated chocolate or nuts.
Liquid caramel, or Polish kajmak, is sold in cans with our neighbors, but here we could replace it with caramel salk or caramel sauce in a bottle, which is used to decorate and flavor desserts.
How to layer a lazy daughter-in-law’s no-bake cake?
Prepare a cake mold or a deep tray or a baking dish, where you can stack the individual layers and at the same time it will keep a nice shape. The advantage of cake molds is the possibility of removing the hoop, which makes the finished cake easier to cut. It is also advisable to line the form with baking paper.
Whip the whipped cream before layering. In a large bowl, mix the mascarpone so that you can work with it well and also add about 2/3 of the caramel sauce to it and mix in the finished whipped cream.
Place the first layer of cookies on the bottom of the mold and then about a third of the mascarpone filling. Continue layering cookies and filling. The last layer will be cookies again.
What about the remaining caramel cream? Spread it evenly on the last biscuit layer, and finally decorate with crushed vanilla halva. Let the dessert harden well in the fridge before serving.
The dessert can be very presentable both cut into cubes and layered into individual portions in glasses or cups.
