Minister Jorge Messias said that “it is not in the cards” to appeal the decision of Minister Flávio Dino, of the STF, who denied the AGU’s request to make the rules imposed on the payment of amendments more flexible.
The Minister of the Attorney General’s Office (AGU), Jorge Messias, stated that the federal government will publish an opinion by the end of the day to guide the execution of parliamentary amendments based on the new rules determined by the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
“We believe that today we will begin a broad process of releasing amendments based on the AGU’s opinion of enforceability,” he said.
According to Messias, the opinion “will clearly explain to federal managers, to parliamentarians, how these amendments will be implemented in the normative framework that was inaugurated by Congress with the incorporation of the Supreme Court’s decision”.
The minister said that “it is not in the cards” to appeal the decision of Minister Flávio Dino who denied the AGU’s request to relax the rules imposed on the payment of amendments.
The government asked the Supreme Court to review parts of the decision that released the amendments with reservations after parliamentarians showed dissatisfaction and threatened to block the processing of the spending cut package.
