The charity event “All for Adoption” takes place in São Paulo, on Wednesday night (11), with the aim of promoting animal adoption and raising funds to build the largest permanent adoption center for dogs and cats in the country.

Pocket musicians perform during the event, which starts at 7pm, at Hotel Unique.

In addition to the dinner, signed by chef Emmanuel Bassoleil, an exclusive auction was held with works of art, accommodation in hotels throughout Brazil, airline tickets and other experiences. All money raised will be used to build the adoption center, which aims to be the largest in the country.

“This place will make us give new meaning to the option of adoption”, explained Juliana Camargo, president of the NGO Ampara and one of the organizers of the event. “We no longer want people to adopt simply out of pity, but rather that they adopt because it is the most ethical option, the coolest option, the option that makes their hearts shine. Simply because you managed to give someone a chance.”

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), by 2022, there were more than 30 million abandoned animals on the streets of Brazil – around 10 million cats and 20 million dogs.

As Camargo explained, the idea of the event is to change the way Brazilians decide to have a pet at home: “We want to work on this topic so that when people think about having an animal, they only consider adoption.”

The event is organized by two NGOs focused on animal welfare: Ampara Animal and Found a Friend. And there will be a presentation by model Ellen Jabour and journalist Rodrigo Bocardi, who will share the stage with special guests and supporters of the animal cause.
