In the higher elevations of Slovakia, there is a layer of snow on the roads. Up to five centimeters on third-class roads in the Záborské district. On road II/537 Tatranská Polianka – Tatranská Lomnica there is sometimes icy snow on the road. The Slovak Road Administration (SSC) informs about this on its website.
“All monitored highway sections and expressways in the Slovak Republic are passable, the surface of the roads is moist to wet. On R3 Trstená – Tvrdošín, there is slushy snow up to one centimeter in places,” SSC said.
The first, second and third class roads are also passable. The road surface is moist to wet. Mountain passes (HP) are passable with restrictions, the road surface is mostly wet. “HP Vrchslatina, Huty, Klenov, Besník, Štós, Dobšiná, Zbojská, Súľová, Grajnár, Vernár, Podspády, Herlianske Sedlo and Pusté Pole have road surfaces covered with a layer of fresh, slushy or compacted snow one to three centimeters thick,” explained the SSC.
