Former South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun tried to take his own life while in custody, the general commissioner of the Korean Correctional Service said on Wednesday (11).
Kim was detained in Seoul on Sunday (8), days after the president’s declaration of martial law triggered a widespread political crisis in the country.

He was moved to an isolation room and has no health problems, Shin said.
