Ricardo Costa, from SIC, and Maria João Avillez, SIC commentatorconsider that the Minister of Justice could be “effective” in changing the Portuguese people’s opinion regarding Justice.
Ricardo Costa, from SIC, and Maria João Avillez, SIC commentator, analyzed on SIC Notícias the change in the anti-corruption mechanism and praised the Minister of Justice.
Maria João Avillez emphasizes that the Corruption, which he considers a “gigantic wound”, “is what most separates” voters from the political cause and from voting.
“I’m tired of being intercepted on transport, on the street, in the square and told that they are all the same. People need to believe it”, she says.
The SIC commentator considers that the minister of justiceRita Alarcão Júdice, has “consistency and serenity”which may make the Portuguese “believe”: “As Dr. Mário Soares would say, she has been taking water to her mill”.
“For me, the important thing is that there is some sign above this whole package that ‘now we are going to do something’, even if it is slowly”, he states.
Ricardo Costa highlights that the Minister of Justice is “calm” and “more effective” than other ministers.
“There has long been an idea of destroying what was done before and then doing it from scratch. I’ve seen this in many governments and it exists in this one too. In the case of Justice, if we look closely, most of the things it announces are ‘I’m going to build better on top of what is done’.
Maria João Avillez argues that it was “very interesting” the French President, Emmanuel Macron, put Trump and Zelensky side by side, within the scope of reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Ricardo Costa and Maria João Avillez also analyzed, in SIC Notícias, populist issues.
