Leandro Gomes dos Santos, director of Mancha Alviverde suspected of participating in the ambush of a bus with the Mafia Azul, from Cruzeiro, which culminated in the death of a man from Cruzeiro, handed himself in to the police this Tuesday (10).

With a temporary arrest warrant issued against him, Leandrinho, as he is known, had been on the run since the beginning of November.

“One of the men wanted for involvement in an ambush of Cruzeiro fans presented himself to the State Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) on Tuesday afternoon (10). The temporary arrest warrant was served and he is giving a statement “, confirmed the SSP (Secretariat of Public Security) in a note to Sheet.

The ministry informs that the investigations remain confidential “to fully clarify the case”.

With this arrest, the Civil Police now has 13 people involved in the ambush arrested. This Monday (9), Jorge Luis Sampaio dos Santos, 44, then president of Mancha Alviverde, resigned from his position and promised to turn himself in, which should happen this Wednesday (11), according to his defense.

In addition to Leandrinho and Santos, deputy Felipe Mattos Santos, known as Fezinho, 31, is also on the run. The police are looking for two other people linked to the organized Palmeiras fans.

On the 3rd, ten people suspected of participating in the ambush against Cruzeiro residents were arrested. Among those detained is lawyer Luiz Ferreti Júnior, who defends Mancha Alviverde. The reason for the arrest was not disclosed, but he was believed to be at the time of the ambush. Previously, two other suspects had been arrested.

The ambush ended with the death of motorcycle courier José Victor Miranda, 30.

It was Sunday morning, October 27th, when two buses with members of the Blue Mafia (organized by the Minas Gerais club) that were heading from Curitiba (PR) to Belo Horizonte (MG) were attacked by Mancha fans on the Fernão Dias highway.

The action, at the Mairiporã tollbooth, in Greater São Paulo, was a response to a fight that occurred on the same highway, but on Minas Gerais soil, two years earlier.

On that occasion, the Palmeiras residents got the worst of it. Among them was the then president Jorge Luis Sampaio dos Santos, who had his documents stolen and later displayed as a trophy at Cruzeiro games.
