MPAC calls on the Government and City Hall and asks for action to address the situation of families camping in Aleac

Earlier this week, the prosecutor for the Defense of Human Rights and Citizenship, Thalles Ferreira Costa, sent a letter to vice-governor Mailza Assis da Silva, Secretary of State for Social Assistance and Human Rights (SEASDH) and another to Wellington Divino Chaves de Souza, municipal secretary of Social Assistance and Human Rights (SASDH), requesting information regarding the registration status of homeless protesters who are camping in the entrance hall of the Legislative Assembly of Rio Branco Acre.

The prosecutor wants to know if the protesters are receiving housing assistance, and if any monitoring is being carried out on this situation, a deadline that ends on the 14th.

In the document, prosecutor Talles Ferreira asks that the possibility of complying with the human right to food and adequate nutrition of the homeless be assessed, within a period of 24 (twenty-four hours), at risk of neglect of fundamental rights, consisting of at least existential ethics.

Almost 20 days ago, after being removed from an area of ​​land due to an eviction order, the families decided to camp in the Legislative Assembly hall, and say they will only leave when they get a house, either from the State Government or City Hall.
