A driver in Žilina hit an 87-year-old pedestrian on the crosswalk: She ended up in the hospital

An 87-year-old woman suffered injuries that required transportation to the hospital in a traffic accident in Žilina on Thursday (December 12). The driver of an Audi passenger car did not give her priority at the pedestrian crossing. The Žilina regional police informed about it on the social network.

“The driver of a passenger motor vehicle with a trailer when turning left for reasons that have not yet been precisely determined he did not give way to a pedestrian who was crossing a pedestrian crossing properly marked with vertical and horizontal markings, and they collided. The 87-year-old pedestrian suffered injuries that required her to be transported to the hospital“, the police said.

Both participants in the traffic accident submitted to a breathalyzer test with a negative result. “Further circumstances, as well as the exact causes of the traffic accident, are the subject of an ongoing investigation,” added the police.
