The Central Bank announced (BC), this Thursday (12), that bills can be paid via Pix, using a specific QR Code, inserted into the bill itself.
“In this way, the agility, convenience and wide acceptance of Pix are incorporated into the experience of using a payment slip, a widely used instrument and the subject of several security improvements over the last few years”, says the BC in a note.
Currently, bills can only be paid using the barcode. The new rule comes into force in 2025, with no specific date yet.
Dynamic bill
The BC note also announced a new type of billing slip, the dynamic bill.
According to the BC, the modality provides greater security in payments of debts being collected represented by certain types of securities, such as, for example, book-entry duplicates.
