Driver of the vice-president of Chega na AR worked 600 hours of overtime (limit is 200)

The driver of Diogo Pacheco de Amorim, vice-president of Chega in the Assembly of the Republic (AR), presented 600 hours of overtime for payment. The expected limit is 200 hours per year.

In addition to working seven hours a day, the Pacheco de Amorim driver recorded “602 overtime hours” in the period between March and December of this year in which he was in the service of the Chega deputy, as determined based on data from an opinion from the Administrative and Financial Directorate of Parliament.

That’s “19 hours of overtime work” in a seven-day week, and 400 more hours than the expected limit of 200 hours, as the channel highlights.

These numbers gain special relevance in light of the Chega protest with what was instituted at the time of the “Troika”, and which has now been reversed in Parliament.

Chega’s deputies placed them on the facades of Parliament, and ensured that will give up salary replacement to which they are entitled by law.

At the time, the leader of the Liberal Initiative criticized Chega’s stance, questioning this party’s deputies whether their vice-president in the AR I was also going to give up the driver and the official car to which all “deputies” in Parliament are entitled.

Pacheco de Amorim came, however, take a stand against one’s own partynoting that the .

Your driver now reports over 600 hours of overtime work for payment, which requires a special approval of the Parliament’s Board of Directors because the prescribed limit had been exceeded.

The opinion of the Administrative and Financial Directorate of Parliament cited by SIC recalls the law to note that “parliamentary operational assistants who perform the function of driver may exceed 100 hours per year (of additional work) until the limit of 200 hours per yearupon authorization from the Secretary General”.

This document also highlights that the official car can only be used “within the scope of competences, excluding any private purposes“.

Pacheco de Amorim “lives outside Lisbon” and does not receive travel allowance

In a note from the office sent to SIC, it is justified that the vice-president of the AR “lives outside of Lisbon” and that “waived travel allowance to which he was entitled.”

In addition to his work as vice-president of the AR, which he “has to perform during weekends and holidays”, Pacheco de Amorim “also has representation functions on behalf of the president of the AR, whenever requested, several of which also take place at the end on weekdays and holidays”, points out the same note.
