“History”: INEM technicians will receive an additional 256 euros per month

New agreement between government and pre-hospital emergency technicians focuses on the progression and training of professionals.

The Government reached an agreement on Wednesday with pre-hospital emergency technicians, after a seven-hour meeting that resulted in the two-row reconfiguration e rsalary positioning to all INEM professionals.

In a joint statement from the Ministries of Health and Finance, the government explains this Thursday that career enhancement corresponds to three pay levelsas early as January 2025.

This agreement translates into a salary increase of 256 eurosstarting in January. According to the president of the Union of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians (STEPH), Rui Lázaro, the agreement also allows that, throughout 2026, professionals who have more than eight years of service can apply to move to the next category, starting to earn another 600 euros.

“Despite our expectations are not completely metis an important appreciation, which greatly values ​​pre-hospital emergency technicians. It is historic and is the greatest appreciation which will come into force on January 1, 2025 in the Public Administration”, says Rui Lázaro.

The restructuring of the special career of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technician (TEPH) now allows a progression across multiple categories to all workers, which until now only happened for management positions.

It was also agreed to value workers with at least 16 years of experience performing the role of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technician, for progression to the next higher category through bidding, “privileging the professional trainingl accomplished.”

“This agreement also promotes and values ​​the appropriate professional training of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians, assuming that the trial period is now one year”, adds the statement.

The ministries, the note states, “are pleased that this phase of the negotiation process took place in a basis of total good faith, commitment and responsibility on both sides, thus dignifying negotiation and social dialogue and contributing to valuing the National Health Service, in such a short space of time”.

The adaptation of the Integrated Public Administration Performance Management and Assessment System (SIADAP) and the organization of the working time at headquarters by collective agreement.

The next work meeting was scheduled for January 22, 2025.
