President Biden approved a new package for Ukraine: The administration will continue the aid until the end of the term

It will include air defense systems, artillery ammunition, drones and armored vehicles. This was announced at the briefing by the spokesman of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, TASR reports based on a Reuters report. Kirby did not specify the value of the latest aid. But he said that The US will continue to provide aid packages to Ukraine until the end of this administration’s term.

US Department of Defense before on Saturday announced another package of military aid to Ukraine worth 988 million dollars (944 million euros) intended for the purchase new weapons and equipment for Ukraine facing the invasion of Russian forces. The funds will be used to purchase ammunition for HIMARS rocket launchers and drones, as well as spare parts for artillery, tanks and armored vehicles.

However, this aid will not come from US military stocks. It is organized through the USAI program (Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative) belonging to the Pentagon, through which the US government orders military equipment for Ukraine from arms companies.

The US is currently the largest financial and military supporter of Ukraine in its war against Russian invasion forces. Since the beginning of the invasion by Russian forces in February 2022, they have provided over $62 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
