The São Paulo Housing and Urban Planning Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation to investigate the circumstances of the collapse at the construction site of the future Bela Vista station, on Line 6-Orange, last Thursday (12). The measure was taken this Friday (13).
According to the Public Ministry, the procedure will investigate the causes, those responsible and whether there was any omission in the inspection of the work. The Prosecutor’s Office still wants to know what measures were already adopted by Linha Uni, the station’s concessionaire, and which construction company was in charge of the works.
The body will also request data from the Fire Department and Civil Defense on risks and measures to be taken in order to avoid new irregularities and ensure the safety of people in the region.
Furthermore, the Prosecutor’s Office requested from the Executive Branch a copy of the Public-Private Partnership contract signed for the construction of the line and the inspection reports. Information was also requested on measures aimed at finding the reasons for the incident and any administrative decisions adopted in relation to the concessionaire. The Executive has ten days to comply with the request.
HAS CNNLinha Uni reported in a note that “it was not notified and maintains a collaborative stance with the competent authorities.”
Remember the case
One in the early afternoon of last Thursday (12). No casualties were reported, according to firefighters.
The collapse occurred at the future Bela Vista station, located on Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio.
