Protests in Georgia enter their third week

Tbilisi – The pro-European protests in Georgia have entered their third week – with the appointment of the ultra-right ex-professional footballer Mikheil Kavelashvili as president planned for Saturday, fears of an escalation are growing. Several thousand people gathered again in front of parliament in the capital Tbilisi on Thursday, continuing daily protests that have been ongoing since November 28th.
