Along with its relatives such as the yellow-banded pink duck (Avicularia juruensis), has fascinating adaptations and behaviors that make it stand out among other tarantulas.
Native to countries such as Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela, the tap dancer is also found in French Guiana, where it thrives in diverse environments such as wildlife sanctuaries near human developments such as spaceports.
Despite being small — measuring around 7 centimeters in length — these tarantulas are equipped with unique defense mechanisms in the animal kingdom.
A defining characteristic of the pink finger tarantula is its stinging hairs —tiny, irritating bristles that can be used as defense against predators. These hairs develop as the tarantula molts, and their effectiveness lies in their versatility.
