The RSF attacks several towns in Gezira and leaves at least 24 dead

At least 24 people have deceased and more than 30 have been injured in an attack perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in a town located in the state of Gezira, in central Sudan, within the framework of the war unleashed against the Sudanese Army in April 2023 in the African country.

The Gezira Conference, a Sudanese civil society group, has indicated through its account on the social network Facebook that The militants attacked several villages on Wednesday from the Al Huda rural area: eight were killed in Al Adnab, ten in al Hafair Hamad and six in Sarhan and Al Udayd abu Suwar.

The RSF took control of the capital of Gezira, Wad Madani, in December 2023, since then perpetrating serious human rights abuses, including murders, kidnappings and sexual violence. Attacks have increased since the October 20 defection of the group’s leader to Gezira, Abu Aqla Kikil.
