The vice-president of the Republic and minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, argued this Friday, the 13th, that there is “no reason” for the president of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to move away from government decisions at this time, after undergoing a surgical procedure. According to Alckmin, Lula is well and working.
“The president is working… He has no reason to step away from the government. No reason. He just didn’t leave the hospital, obviously, for medical reasons”, said Alckmin, noting that Lula should be medically discharged in the next few days.
The vice-president also recalled that next week is decisive for the approval of projects of interest to the Executive, including the proposals for the tax package and the regulation of tax reform.
“It is a very important week, for us to be able to approve the set of measures to comply with the fiscal framework. The government wants to guarantee compliance with the fiscal framework”, said the minister during an agenda at the Manaus Free Trade Zone Superintendence.
