Bolsonaro’s former minister was arrested in the morning in Rio de Janeiro; Hearing is scheduled for 2pm, via videoconference
The general’s (PL) custody hearing will be held at 2 pm this Saturday (Dec 14, 2024) via videoconference. The vice president of the former president (PL) on the 2022 ticket was arrested by the (Federal Police) early in the morning for obstruction of justice. Here is the decision (PDF – 599 kB):
The former chief minister of the Civil House is also the target of Operation Countercoup, which investigates the planning of an attempted coup and murder of the president (PT), vice president (PSB) and the minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes.
The soldier was arrested at his residence in Copacabana, a neighborhood in the south of Rio de Janeiro. He was taken to the Federal Police headquarters and then to Vila Militar, in the west of the capital.
The preventive arrest warrant and two search and seizure warrants were issued by the Federal Supreme Court, in addition to a precautionary measure other than arrest against suspects who were believed to be hindering the process of producing evidence during the criminal procedural investigation.
