The singer Donate Onete85, is hospitalized at the Hospital Beneficente Portuguesa in Belém, Pará, to treat a urinary infection. The information was revealed this Friday (13) by the artist’s team, which became known as the “Queen of Carimbó Chamegado”.
“Our dear queen Dona Onete needed special care and is admitted to the Hospital Beneficente Portuguesa, in Belém, to treat a urinary infection”, began the statement, published on the artist’s networks.
The team explained that the hospitalization was to avoid possible cases considering Dona Onete’s age.
“She asked to reassure her fans, as he is well and hospitalization is just a measure to avoid complications, given his age. We will continue to update you here about your situation”, concluded the note.
In the comments, fans and personalities wished Dona Onete to recover quickly. Singer Fafá de Belém commented: “Strength, Faith and Science my queen”. He wished her: “You’ll be fine soon.”
Born in Cachoeira do Arari, in Marajó, Ionete da Silveira Gama, known as Dona Onete, is considered one of the representatives of Pará rhythms, such as stamp. In 2023, her musical work was recognized as intangible cultural heritage of Pará.
Throughout her artistic career, which she began after her 60th birthday, Dona Onete has collected several successes and collected partnerships with other artists from Pará such as Fafá de Belém, Gaby Amarantos and Aíla.
