After Progressistas’ decision to continue in the dispute for the presidency of the Chamber and not support the name of Joabe Lira (União Brasil), the ContilNet He contacted the elected councilor to find out his position on the situation.

The Progressistas met this Thursday (12), at the party headquarters, and the members of the municipal executive reached a consensus that they will have a name in the dispute for the position – without support for Joabe. Within the group, Elzinha Mendonça and Samir Bestene made themselves available. The PP now needs to choose which of the two will face the elections for the board of directors, which will take place on January 1st, together with the inauguration of the new councilors.

“The party [Progressistas] has its autonomy. We continued talking to the councilors. There was already a meeting this week with UB and PL, so we continue to align this project. Our proposal is to strengthen the City Council, together with the councilors, using the experience of those who have already held office and the availability of those who are now entering. Let’s go to the end [eleição]”, said the councilor.

“I expected support from the PP, but they have the right to decide the way they are deciding. We continue talking,” he concluded.
