Clean and shiny floors are the decoration of every home. However, different surfaces require different treatment, and this is exactly the case with parquet floors. How to wash parquet floors to keep them shiny? It turns out that this method costs literally a few euros and you can find it… in the kitchen cabinet.
How often do you wash parquet floors to keep them shiny? Clean floors without a single smudge
Although you can find a range of cleaning products on store shelves to clean specific types of floors, they don’t always pass the test. Some of them can leave ugly streaks and make your floors look dull, which you don’t want.
Wooden floors look beautiful when they are shiny and resemble a calm surface of water. Then they add charm to the apartment and make the house look incredibly clean thanks to them. That is why it is worth giving them exceptional care. How often should you wash parquet floors? The best solution would be to wash them at least once a week, and on the other days you will need to vacuum them to get rid of dirt.
But when the day comes to wash the floor, the question remains, what to wash it with? If you choose ready-made liquids available in stores, always choose those designed for wooden floors, so as not to damage their surface with other cleaning agents. In addition, when washing, do not pour too much liquid into warm water and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
What can you do to avoid streaks on the floor?
Use a microfiber mop that gently cleans the surface without scratching. Do not forget that it is only slightly moist and does not drip from it. Excessive water can damage the floor. Wash the floor with room temperature water or slightly cold water. Hot water can promote the formation of streaks. What else should be remembered? Always wipe the laminate floor with a dry microfiber cloth after cleaning. This will remove all remaining water and definitely avoid streaks.
Washing with vinegar
It turned out that we can do without buying ready-made cleaning agents for washing the floor, because the ideal ingredient for their care is often in the kitchen cupboards. Parquet floors can be washed with ordinary vinegar, or rather with a diluted decoction. It is enough to pour alcohol vinegar into warm water, which costs a little over 1-2 euros in the store.
It is recommended to mix 1 small glass of vinegar with 5 liters of warm but not hot water. Mix the solution and it is now ready to clean the floor panels. Wring out the excess liquid from the mop well so that the water does not “stand” on the panels, and do not walk on the washed floor until it is completely dry.
