At issue is the experimental missile Oreshnik, which, however, is seen by US authorities more as an attempt at intimidation than an attempt to “change the game” in the war with Ukraine.
Russia already used Oreshnik a few weeks ago: on November 21st it attacked a factory in Dnipro, city that was hit at surprising speed and was the scene of enormous fireballs.
At this point, the same source remains, the Russians they don’t have many missiles – and these carry a smaller warhead than other missiles that Russia regularly launches against Ukraine.
But this Oreshnik missile combines easy maneuvering and precision flight; he does devastating attacks over a vast geographic area.
These intermediate-range missiles can fly between 500 and 5,500 kilometers.
They were banned until 2019at a time when the USA and Russia “torn up” a treaty from the times of the USSR.
