How would a partnership between São Paulo and Evangelos Marinakis work?
The negotiation between São Paulo and Marinakis is not a SAF. The club would be discussing a partnership involving its youth categories.
In the proposed model, Marinakis would not take control of São Paulo’s youth categories. What has been discussed is a partnership to increase Cotia’s investment power and promote the exchange of players and other professionals who participate in the training of athletes.
Due to a lack of financial capacity, São Paulo currently avoids taking athletes from other bases, opting for complete training in Cotia. If the partnership with Marinakis comes to fruition, Tricolor Paulista will have more power to attract young players.
Among the details being discussed are the trade’s counterparts. One possibility is that Marinakis has a share in the profit from the sale of athletes trained by São Paulo after the start of his career.
