“Dexter: Original Sin“, spin-off of “Dexter”, premiered this Friday (13) on Paramount+ and explores the origin of the iconic serial killer immortalized by Michael C. Hall. Set in the 1990s, the series features younger versions of the title character, as well as Harry and Debra Morgan.
In the new version, the killer’s father is played by (“Mr. Robot”), 55. In an interview with CNNthe actor made a point of praising James Remar (““), who played the character in the original production.
“James Remar did a fantastic job. I am, of course, a big fan of his. Following in his footsteps and trying to take his place was, without a doubt, a great challenge”, he reveals.
For him, the great asset of the prelude is the opportunity to “tell a story that really deserves to be told”. “I was also interested in exploring the history and past of Harry Morgan. There were aspects and details that not even Dexter knew about Harry’s past, so it was fun to be able to reveal that to the public”, he explains.
Set in Miami in 1991, the plot of “Dexter: Original Sin” follows Dexter in his transition from student to serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can no longer be ignored, he must learn to channel his inner darkness, according to the synopsis..
With guidance from his father, Harry, he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on the authorities’ radar. To make matters more complicated, Dexter must balance his extralegal affairs with a new forensic internship at the Miami Metropolitan Police Department.
The production stars (“The OA”). Names like Christian Slater (“Death Attraction”), Christina Milian (“Amor da Aluguel”) and more make up the cast. Michael C. Hallwho played Dexter in the original series, which aired from 2006 to 2013,
(“Grey’s Anatomy”) and (“Buffy – The Vampire Slayer” are also in the cast.
