The German Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Interior, Annalena Baerbock y Nancy Faeserrespectively, have sent a notice to supporters of the regime of Bachar al-Asad fallen in Syria that if they enter Germany they will have problems with justice for having participated in the crimes of the dictatorship.
“If any servant of Al Assad is now thinking of fleeing to Germany, I can only say clearly that we will take all the minions of the regime to justice for its fruitful crimes,” said Baerbock, in statements collected this Sunday in the edition of the newspaper ‘Bild’.
The head of German diplomacy emphasized that “international security authorities and intelligence services in particular must now collaborate as closely as possible.”
Along these lines, Faeser pointed out that, in Germany, “no one is safe from being criminally prosecuted if they have participated in atrocities“, in view of the accusations against Bashar al-Assad’s regime, which fell just a week ago after more than ten years of civil war.
