The president () defended this Sunday (15) that General Braga Netto, arrested this Saturday (14), has the right to the presumption of innocence.
“What I didn’t have, I want them to have,” he said.
The PT member stated that he is patient and defends due legal process for Braga Netto and those accused in the coup plot.

Braga Netto was arrested this Saturday by the Federal Police, on suspicion of having tried to hinder investigations into the 2022 coup plot.
Suspicions related to the attempt to interfere in the investigations have been accumulating since September 2023, when Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid had his award-winning collaboration agreement approved by the STF.
In a press conference at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, Lula also stated that it is not possible to accept disrespect for democracy and called those who tried to destroy Brazil a “plague of locusts”.
He said that his greatest desire was to bring Brazil back to democratic normality and that this will still happen. “Each monkey on its own, everything will be resolved in Brazil,” he said.
