A man died on Friday (13) while awaiting treatment at the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) Cidade de Deus, in the west zone of . Videos are circulating on social media that supposedly show the young patient, fainting on chairs in the unit, and then being rushed to help. The Municipal Health Secretary reported that, according to initial reports from professionals, everything happened very quickly. The patient was lucid and walked into the unit, accompanied by a person who reported that he was unable to remain there.

System data shows that the risk classification was carried out at 8:30 pm, SMS said. A few minutes later, the medical team was called as the patient was unconscious. He was taken to the Red Room for treatment, but unfortunately he did not survive. Cardiorespiratory arrest was found, said the SMS. The department did not disclose the victim’s age. The body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute to determine the cause of death. The unit’s management regretted what happened and opened an inquiry to investigate the case.
