Expressway R2 near the village of Figa in the district of Rimavská Sobota is currently impassable due to an accident involving several vehicles. Jozef Mikuda from the operations center of the Regional Directorate of the Fire and Rescue Service (HaZZ) in Banská Bystrica confirmed that all rescue services are on the scene.
According to Mikuda, four vehicles collided at the scene. “We cannot assess whether there were more of them, because that is under investigation by the police,” he pointed out. According to him, one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident, while two others were seriously injured. “All persons are taken to the hospital for treatment,” added Mikuda.
According to him, firemen from Revúca, Rimavská Sobota and Tornale intervened on the spot and secured the crashed cars against fire.
