The result is 11.6% higher than in 2023 and represents the best performance of the sector for this period since 2011
The production of motorcycles at the Manaus Industrial Complex (PIM) is already greater than that of the same period last year. From January to November this year, 169,081 more units were manufactured than in the same period of 2023. According to the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Motorcycles, Mopeds, Mopeds, Bicycles and Similar (Abraciclo), 1,624,373 motorcycles were made this year compared to 1,455,292 last year.
The result is 11.6% higher than in 2023 and represents the sector’s best performance for this period since 2011, says Abraciclo. The expectation is that the sector will reach the projection of 1.72 million units produced in 2024, with growth of 9.3% compared to last year.
Just in the comparison between November this year and the same month last year, production grew 10%, with the manufacture of 146,055 units. For Abraciclo, it was the best November in 13 years.
According to the association’s survey, the most registered categories of motorcycles were street (48.7% market share), trail (18.4%) and scooter (16.3%). The average daily sales in November, with 19 working days, was 7,740 units.
Exports
With regard to exports, Abraciclo reported that its members sold 28,468 motorcycles outside the country, a decrease of 10.7% compared to last year. In November, the external market accounted for 1,640 units – a volume 14.2% higher than in 2023, but 44.7% lower compared to October this year.
“These numbers prove the good moment experienced by our industry, which strictly followed its planning and knew how to prepare in advance to face the drought”, said the president of Abraciclo, Marcos Bento. “We have gone through the most critical period and are already moving towards logistical normality, with ships once again docking in Manaus.”
