Procedure will identify causes, culprits and possible omissions in the supervision of the project
On Friday (13), an investigation was launched to determine the circumstances of the collapse at the construction site of the future Bela Vista station, on the . The accident occurred in the early afternoon of Thursday (12) and opened a crater at the site. There were no victims. According to a note released by the MP, the procedure will identify causes, culprits and possible omissions in the supervision of the project. The Housing and Urban Planning Prosecutor’s Office of the Capital wants to know what measures have already been adopted by the concessionaire Linha Uni and which construction company was in charge of the works. Still within the scope of the investigation, the Prosecutor’s Office gave the Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) government a period of ten days to send a copy of the Public-Private Partnership contract signed for the construction of Line 6 – Orange and all inspection reports, in addition to information on measures aimed at finding the reasons for the incident and on any administrative measures adopted in relation to the concessionaire.
Soil undermining occurred due to the passage of the tatuzão, the name given to the tunneling machine used to drill tunnels. LinhaUni, the concessionaire responsible for the work, did not say when the hole should be closed. The future Metro Line 6-Orange has 15 stations planned, between Brasilândia (northern zone) and São Joaquim (central region). The government expects the delivery of the first stage in October 2027, but, as the works were delayed by another thousand days, completion could be delayed by 2028. The calculation of the delay is counted from 2025, the deadline set for delivery by the João Doria administration (then at PSDB), in 2020. Line 6 gained the nickname “Universities Line”. Along the original route, it will pass close to at least seven educational institutions: Centro Universitário São Camilo, PUC-SP, FMU, FAAP, Mackenzie, Unip and Uninove.
