When you think about skateboarding, you think about the Brazilian fairy – Rayssa Leal. Last weekend, once again, the skater showed why her name is among the best in history, and became the first three-time champion of the Street Skate World League (SLS).

This Sunday (15), the little fairy put on a show on the tracks of São Paulo, winning her third consecutive league title. With a maneuver rating of 9.1, the highest of her career in competitions in Brazil, she reinforced the titles of 2022 and 2023, being the record holder of the tournament that has existed since 2015.

The story, as always, was exciting. In the last maneuver, the fairy turned the table around with two 9.1 scores, which placed her total at 35.4. With the score, she surpassed the Japanese Coco Yoshizawa, already known on the podium and with 35.2 points, and Yemeka Oda, who achieved 33.7.

As usual, Rayssa found herself among Japanese women in the final. In addition to the two, there were also Momiji Nishiya and Liz Akama, competing for two line chances and five attempts at individual maneuvers.

Still, the title was Brazilian, as usual. In 2015, the debut season went to Brazilian Letícia Bufoni, in addition to the 2019 and 2020 titles with Pâmela Rosa for Brazil.

Rayssa’s lines were well scored, placing her in second place, with 0.1 less than Chloe. The result, then, came in the maneuvers, which consecrated the championship with its final nine club.

Nine club which, by the way, was not just hers, having also been reached by Coco and Yumeka. Thus, the girls had the greatest final in SLS history, achieving a 9.4 in Oda’s maneuver.

This time, Rayssa had her full team on the track, including her psychologist and her coach, Felipe. “You saw the reality of skateboarding, the friendship, the family and you will see this increasing. The level was high, several 9s. It was very Corinthian. I am fulfilled. I’m with everyone, complete team, my psychologist left Italy to come here”, he celebrated.

Still after the championship, the fairy commented on the year she lived, and the emotion of the final: “It was a very good year, with a lot of learning, physically and mentally. It was a difficult year, we overcame the difficulties and everything worked out. It’s all or nothing. In the last maneuver, that’s exactly it, I needed a 9. This and some would give me a 9, but this is the one I’m most confident in. Felipe made a sensational strategy, he knows all my points.”
