Slovaks living in the south-west of Slovakia have an advantage. In addition to the traditional markets in Bratislava, they can also enjoy the Christmas atmosphere in the metropolises of our neighbors. Filled trains and also many cars with Slovak registration plates go to Vienna and Budapest from us, especially on weekends.
Our reader Soňa also went to the capital of Austria, who sent us the prices of her favorite foods and drinks at the Town Hall Square (Rathausplatz). These are the most famous and largest Viennese Christmas markets.
For example, a visitor pays 8.9 euros for an organic sausage. The price of mulled wine ranges from 5 to 6 euros. A non-alcoholic punch costs 4.5 euros, and one with alcohol from 5 to 6.5 euros. A deposit of five euros for the mug must also be added to this.
Visitors can enjoy the most famous markets until December 26. Unlike Vienna, Bratislava wants to give people the Christmas atmosphere for as long as possible. You can find the stands in the Old Town until January 6. Lovers of Christmas markets will get their money’s worth.
