Federal deputy Luciano Bivar, former president of União Brasil, criticized the party during an interview with WW on Friday (13).
Bivar, who was , expressed his dissatisfaction with the party’s current direction.
According to the parliamentarian, União Brasil “no longer has a soul, no ideal, no nothing”.
“Unfortunately, the party I am a member of is not run by a politician, it is run by a guy (sic) who is there to make deals. It hurts, but be patient. These are the ills of democracy”, stated Bivar.
Currently, União Brasil is chaired by lawyer Antonio Rueda and has as vice-president the former mayor of Salvador, ACM Neto. The acronym emerged from the merger between the Democratic parties and the PSL. Bivar was the party’s first president.
Bivar’s criticisms come at a delicate moment for União Brasil. Federal Police (PF) investigation investigates a . One of those arrested in the operation is a member of the party’s national directory.
Appointed as a political operator close to the current leadership of the party, businessman José Marcos Moura, known as ““, was arrested last Tuesday (10), during Operation Overclean investigations.
“I am appalled by this and I am very sorry for the party that I am still a member of”, declared the deputy.
