In an official statement, the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated that the country “has no interest in a conflict with Syria” and that Israeli policy towards the Syrians will be in accordance with the local reality. However, Netanyahu warned that Israel is committed to preventing Hezbollah’s rearmament.

The prime minister spoke about the matter on Saturday (14) night, with the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump.

“We had a very friendly, warm and important conversation. We discussed the need to complete Israel’s victory and talked at length about the efforts we are making to free our hostages,” he added.
