These days, I have a lot of devices and equipment at home that need electricity. But how to do it to ensure their operation and at the same time not have cables stretched all over the room? Learn to hide them from the eyes of the visitor, but also from yourself. After all, a tidy room is always more pleasant…
Unorganized cables, which literally roll everywhere and often even get in the way, can destroy the pleasant impression of a perfectly tidy home. That’s why it’s time to think about a solution and make sure that we don’t even notice them if possible.
The bar covers the cables
One of the probably most frequently used options is the installation of a strip in which you hide the cables. Such a strip then aesthetically connects the floor to the walls of the room on one side, and extension cables are hidden behind it.
These will bring electricity even to places where there is no socket, without having to make major reconstruction changes in the wiring. The extension cable can then emerge from its hiding place, for example, behind the sofa, and from there you can easily power all possible devices.
Even a simple tape will do
Even if the cables aren’t hidden behind the molding, they can look a lot neater if you tape them down and hook them to the wall on the ground. It is a more operative solution, you will be able to move the cables more easily if necessary, but the room will look neater.
Try a stool
Another option that can be found on TikTok, for example, is a gadget for which we will need a stool that can be easily moved to different places. Cables connected to electricity with an extension cord will be hidden in its bowels.
It will then be enough to drill a few holes in the stool, through which the cables can be passed and the devices can be connected to them. As soon as they are not needed, they disappear back into their hiding places. It is even possible to get ones that wind themselves – and that will be a big advantage in such a case.
The picture also hides the cables
All kinds of decorative hiding places, such as stools, or chests, which also fit wonderfully in some interiors, or decorative boxes that can be hung on the wall, or even pictures in a deep frame, behind which cables can be easily hidden, all of this are excellent ideas from which we can draw inspiration when transforming our own home.
It’s not just about aesthetics
Why actually hide the cables that are often just lying around the room? In addition to aesthetics, which of course we place great emphasis on, it is also a matter of safety – especially if there are children or pets in the apartment. Therefore, it is good to think about such a possible change and implement it as quickly as possible. You will see that you will enjoy it yourself.
