The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said he was feeling well after the surgical procedures he underwent in recent days. The PT member spoke to the Fantastic shortly after the press conference to announce his hospital discharge in the early afternoon of this Sunday (15).
Lula reinforced that the plan is to return to Brasília next Thursday (19) to “work normally”. However, he highlighted that there are still restrictions indicated by doctors, mainly related to physical activities.
“Doctors’ biggest concern is with the next 45 to 60 days, because it is the healing period”, he stated, highlighting that he experienced moments of concern, as the head, the affected region, is “very delicate”.
Regarding international trips, the PT member informed that the next one, to Japan, is only scheduled for March 27th. “I will stay calm in Brasília, taking care of myself”, he said.
Although the situation is now under control, doctor Roberto Kalil Filho, who treats the president, stated that the initial scenario was serious. “The worst could have happened,” he said.
As shown by the Estadão/BroadcastKalil assesses that Lula is “completely capable” of running for reelection to the position in 2026, when his current term ends.
