Expressing emotions in men is often seen as weakness. However, this puts pressure on them to suppress their sadness and frustration. The Mental Health League (LDZ) has warned that it can lead to emotional exhaustion and feelings of isolation. She also pointed out other myths associated with men. She appealed to them to come out of them and take care of their mental health.

“Society often emphasizes the strength and endurance of men, thereby neglecting mental well-being. This leads to the feeling that men don’t have to work on their emotional stability as long as they are physically strong.” she commented on the social network.

LDZ also called claims that strong men do not need therapy and that only women should express love as myths. “If a man shows tenderness or love, it is sometimes considered effeminate. In interpersonal relationships, this attitude leads to the inability to openly express emotions to loved ones.” she pointed out.

At the same time, she appealed to men not to think that they have to take care of everything. “The expectation that a man should be the breadwinner and not have financial or personal problems can cause a feeling of responsibility and guilt if he is not able to fulfill these expectations,” she added.
